Financial Aid information for Rehabilitation Master's option.

Financial Aid

Beginning academic year 2014, the Department (Rehabilitation Counseling Program) was awarded a 5-year Rehabilitation Services Administration training grant. The purpose of the training grant is to support students who want to pursue a career as a state vocational rehabilitation counselor. The grant provides a scholarship of $22,500 for the first year of study with the opportunity to receive a paid internship during the second of study with the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Students who wish to apply for the grant must be accepted into the Rehabilitation Counseling Program Option but may also pursue a second program option in one of the other programs as well (Career, Mental Health or School Counseling). Students who are awarded a RSA training grant must work a minimum of two years as a state vocational rehabilitation counselor and, after completion of this employment period, will have fulfilled the requirements of the grant award.

There may be sources of support available outside of the Department, such as work study. Information may be obtained directly from the following offices: Fellowship Office, 317 Kern Building; Residential Life Programs, 135 Boucke Building; or Office of Student Aid, 314 Shields Building, University Park, PA 16802. Applicants can also gather this information from the Penn State Website.
