“My internships with the Summer Research Opportunity Program provided me an incredible professional learning experience. It was the first time I had an opportunity to apply the theoretical understandings from my program within a real-world situation. I juggled timelines, gained mentors, and presented research at conference. Most importantly, I emerged with a better understanding of what I wanted to do and who I wanted to be after I graduated.”
--Angel Zheng, 2011 EPP Graduate

“I learned how to apply my knowledge from in the college classroom, and in my case to the way the district functions from the district level all the way up the federal level. Also, it gave me a chance to network with different roles amongst the district, which was the most exciting part for me! I got to see how the teachers and principals interacted with each other, along with the administrative board district wide, up to the superintendent for the district. “
