Dr. Kim earned his Ph.D. from Penn State, and M.A. and B.A. from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. He is a researcher in the Educational Research Institute at Yonsei University and serving as a co-instructor for ADTED courses at Penn State. He had professional experiences in consulting HR, lifelong learning city, and community development at profit and nonprofit organizations. He also served as a graduate and teaching assistant in ADTED for resident and World Campus classes at Penn State from 2008 to 2011. More recently, he received an Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award at the 53rd Adult Education Research Conference in June 2012.His research interests focus on adult and lifelong education, adult learning theory, community development and lifelong learning, workplace learning, and human resource development. Currently, he has academic publications; three articles, two book chapters, and eight conference papers. In 2012, Dr. Kim received the Michael B. Salwen Scholars Program from Korean-American Educational Researchers Association (KAERA).
